Master’s thesis: “Investigation of somatic and excretory-secretory antigens of Trichinella spiralis muscle larvae: characterization and application in serological diagnostics”, Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, Serbia (2002).

PhD in Biological Sciences, Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, Serbia (2009). PhD thesis: “Investigation of the role of Trichinella spiralis antigens in polarization of immune response mediated by dendritic cells”.

Research Field:

Engagement in scientific work in the field of immunology and immunoparasitology, especially in studies with the focus on: defining the particular components from Trichinella spiralis excretory-secretory products that are responsible for the modulation of immune response and that can consequently be used as potent modulators of the course of autoimmune disease; investigation of the tolerogenic potential of dendritic cells acquired after the stimulation with Trichinella spiralis antigens and their capacity to induce regulatory type of immune response i.e. the potential of Trichinella antigens to condition T regulatory cells as the basis for exploring the new approaches in treatment of autoimmune diseases, examination of the mechanisms used by Trichinella and its antigens to suppress the tumour growth on the model system of mouse melanoma B16.

Professional Activities:

Participates in a research projects funded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological development, Republic of Serbia: “Mechanisms of the immune response to parasitic infection, or exposure to parasite antigens, and the concomitant modulation and/or prevention of unrelated diseases” (Project No. 173047) and “The application of functional carbon nano-tubes and golden nano-particles in the preparation of dendritic cells for tumor therapy” (Project No. 175102). Participates in the international project: COST Action BM1305: Action to Focus and Accelerate Cell-based Tolerance-inducing Therapies (A FACTT) (2014-2018). Participated in the International FP6 project: “Reinforcement of the Serbian Centre for Parasitic Zoonozes” (2007-2009).

Other responsibilities:

Deputy Manager of the Quality control system, quality management according to international standards ISO 9001:2008, ISO 13485:2012, ISO 17025:2006; active participation in manufacturing of in vitro diagnostic tools for serological diagnosis of autoimmune and parasitic diseases, engagement in the performance of serological tests for diagnosis of autoimmune and parasitic diseases.
